Anand: After yielding startling results to cure diseases like cancer, AIDS, diabetes and blood-pressure, cow's urine is now being successfully used in moving the hands of a clock.

That is what Kutch-based Vardhaman Jeevdaya Kendra managing trustee Vasantji Premji Soni demonstrated on Sunday at an Ayurvedic fair, being held in Anand under the auspices of the Gujarat Pradesh Ayurvedic Sammelan.

Soni filled a glass vessel with cow's urine and dipped two electrodes, one of copper and the other of zinc, into the bowl. The electrical connection, when completed, powered a clock to tick.

"The clock can be moved on the electricity produced by the urine for 15 days at a stretch," Soni told people who had assembled to watch the experiment.

Soni said he had been experimenting on the electrical prowess of cow's urine since 1999 and claimed that he had succeeded in operating electronic calculators and even radio sets using the same.

The Vardhaman Jeevdaya Kendra manages a cattleshed, where a large number of cows are taken care of.
