HYDERABAD: The two-day Melange exhibition is on till September 7 in the city, catered to the customers with 50 stalls that showcased collections of rangolis and diyas for Diwali, home accessories, suits, sarees and many more.Bright huesAccording to stall owners, vibrant colours like parrot green, red, gold are the ones to own this season. Also, materials like georgette and crepes are what customers are looking for. Anitha, a stall from Chennai, had a unique piece of Anarkali suit in georgette teamed with chinese collar, a benarasi shrug, costing `3000. Another stall, shocased asymetric cut suits, raw silk suits with shankle nets. The sarees are either plain or elegant with a heavy zari teamed with shimmer silk double border. Raw silk with flying bird, leaves, peacock motifs are the fast sellers. Lemon Tree stall has chanderi handloom sarees which has a mixed look of flashy yet sober collection. Stone studded saree borders with digital handpaint is a newly launched item ranging between `11,000 and `3.5 lakhs.Of batuwas and clutches There is a wide variety of batuwas, clutches, footwear and antique jewellery to match the fine clothing. Essence Enhancing Beauty stall had a collection of stone studded, euphoric paintings on leather bags and clutches. The footwear were predominantly heels with jazzy laces and pearl work. “Stilettos with patch work on a suit will anytime look sexy,” says Padma, a visitor. The clutches cost about Rs1000 to Rs 5000. Decorating homeFestival being the time to catch up with friends and relatives, the stalls at the exhibition sure have a facelift to one’s home decor with their special variety of linen with royal motifs and antique crafts at an economical price. The floating diyas and rangoli are indispensible for any festival. The diyas are designed with stone work. Glass table tops with zardosi borders, tissue boxes and magazine holders with digital prints of yesteryear’s beauties like Madhubala and Madonna are sure to attract the visitors. Kushi, Ronak and Vinca stalls are the place to head to for owning these items. “The items with digital prints on them is something new and unique which I would like to add to my shopping cart,” says Sunitha, a visitor.
