NELLORE: Following incessant rain in Rayalaseema, particularly Kurnool and Kadapa, the inflows into Somasila reservoir have increased significantly.With rivers like Sagileru, Kundu in spate, inflows into the Somasila reservoir have increased.According to sources, inflow is about 35,000 cusecs and outflow is only 1000 cusecs.On Monday, water storage level in Somasila was 45.77 tmc ft, while its was only 40.22 tmc ft two days ago. Officials say that depending on the inflow rate, discharge of water to Kandaleru, which is downstream ofSomasila will be decided. They say that, waters upto 78 tmc ft can be stored in the project and about 52 tmc ft in Telugu Ganga projects.
