Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other INDIA bloc leaders narrowly avoided a major accident when the stage set up for their campaign in Bihar, ahead of the final phase of the Lok Sabha elections, suddenly collapsed.
A video of the incident has been circulating on social media. It shows the leaders standing on the stage, holding hands, just as they were about to address the public gathering. Suddenly, the stage collapsed, causing everyone on it to lose their balance and grab onto each other for a few moments.

The former Congress president, who was standing next to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Lalu Prasad’s daughter Misa Bharti, could be seen holding her hand when the stage broke. Despite the fright, both Gandhi and Bharti remained composed and even exchanged smiles with concerned security personnel who rushed to their aid.
The event took place in Paliganj, on the outskirts of Patna, and was organised to support Misa Bharti’s candidacy for the Patliputra Lok Sabha seat.
After the incident, Gandhi continued with the rally, speaking to the crowd and expressing his support for Bharti’s campaign.

At a campaign event in Bakhtiyarpur earlier today, the Congress leader said that Narendra Modi will not become prime minister again, as there is a clear wave of support for the INDIA bloc across the country.
He claimed that if the INDIA bloc is voted into power, they would scrap the Agnipath scheme for defence service recruitment and deposit Rs 8,500 into every woman’s account each month.
“The INDIA bloc, if voted to power, will throw the Agnipath scheme into the dustbin. Modi Ji has turned soldiers into labourers,” Gandhi told the crowd during the rally.
The scheme, announced by the Narendra Modi government in 2022, involves recruiting young soldiers, called ‘Agniveers’, on a contractual basis for four years, with 75 percent of them being retired without certain benefits that regular soldiers receive.
The Congress leader also stated that if the INDIA bloc forms the government after the elections, they would reopen all closed industries and fill up 30 lakh job vacancies.
RJD leader and former Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav, Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) Liberation general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, Vikassheel Insan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahni, and other INDIA bloc leaders accompanied Gandhi during the rallies.
