New Delhi: Shahid Kapoor was nominated for the Best Debut Filmfare Award for his first film as hero, 'Ishq Vishk', but his career started facing obstacles after some years. The actor was always considered a good prospect, but his films didn't justify his latent talent. Now, he has teamed up with a successful director Prabhudeva, and thus he would be hoping for a good finish at the box-office.
The 32-year-old, who has hits like 'Jab We Met' and 'Kaminey' in his kitty, hasn't been so lucky at the box office with 'Chance Pe Dance', 'Mausam', 'Teri Meri Kahaani' and 'Phata Poster Nikhla Hero'.
"I have been unlucky that my films did not work, but I have been lucky as my fan following has been intact. I am lucky that the audience has been very nice," said Shahid to IANS in an interview.
"I have tried to give 200 percent to all my films and I am thankful that the audiences have faith in me. I deserve a little luck," he added.
The actor believes that success is all about the timing.
"It's all about timing - when time is good, it will work. You can't think about all these things as you have to learn to accept a few things. I genuinely feel I just need some luck... rest everything is fine," he added.
Prabhudeva has directed some of the best actions scenes with Shahid in the film.
Praising the director, Shahid said: "His sense of action is amazing. His action treatment is also musical. There is a lot of stylization. He takes care of small moments."
"We finished shooting for the film in 88 days and for 45 days we shot for action sequences. He gives a lot of time and attention to action."
'R...Rajkumar' will see Shahid working with Sonakshi Sinha for the first time and he compliments his leading lady as a 'complete heroine'.
"I have been working for 10 years and I don't say this for everyone, but she is a complete heroine. She dances so well, great actress, her attitude is very positive and we really gelled well," said Shahid who has worked with the likes of Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Vidya Balan.
Prabhudeva said Shahid did everything he had planned for him. "It was a great experience. I want to work with him (Shahid) again soon. I don't know when it will happen. Whenever he is free we will work together."
"Whatever we thought, we knew he could do it. Be it 'Gandi Baat', 'Saree Ke Fall Sa', his dancing style and his energy is too good. So it was easy for us and he did an amazing job," he said.
"I thoroughly enjoyed playing a rowdy in the film. I am quite thrilled about the film. I have not done anything like this before," Sonakshi told reporters at the film's trailer launch.
Sonakshi says this film is a complete 'masala' entertainer.
"Each film is different... this film is a typical Prabhu Deva mass entertainer. There is lot of music and dance and it's a masala entertainer."
