BANGALORE: The Federation of Karnataka Lorry Drivers Association has condemned the hike in the diesel and LPG rates, as it will have a cascading effect on the vegetable prices and other essential commodities.
An association representative said that the Rs 3.72 increase in petrol rates, of which 50 paisa is the state tax, the lorry drivers will have to spend Rs 12 per km more, which will force them to charge it from suppliers."We transport vegetable and other essential commodities and if our cost goes up, we will have to pass it on as we have no other choice," he said.
