BANGALORE: The vacation bench of the High Court on Friday granted conditional bail to actor Darshan, who was arrested and charged with domestic violence and attempt to murder his wife and son.The Special Public Prosecutor Chandramouli filed objection against Darshan’s bail plea stating that actor’s wife has suffered eleven injuries and the wound certificate has revealed that he behaved brutally with his wife, (Vijaylakshmi).He also said that the actor was influential and could bring pressure on his wife, witnesses and tamper with evidence.Hearing an appeal by Darshan, who has moved the High Court after his bail plea was rejected by the lower court, Justice B V Pinto granted him conditional bail on grounds that it was a family matter after considering the affidavit of his wife Vijayalakshmi, who has stated that they will resolve the matter amicably.The court granted bail with two conditions: by taking Rs. 25,000 bond and surety from a person.Darshan’s wife Vijayalkshmi, brother Dinakar, producers Naganna, Mahadevappa and his fans were present during the hearing. Last week, the First Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court had extended Darshan’s judicial custody till October 4. Vijayalakshmi had then appeared before the magisterial court seeking to withdraw her complaint, but the court did not accept it and rejected Darshan’s bail plea on the ground that the crime committed under IPC section 307 (attempt to murder) did not fall under its jurisdiction.
