THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: P B Ashraf, 31, was arrested from his home at Muvattupuzha in connection with the suicide of Riswana, a student of Gokulam Medical College, Venjaramoodu, the other day.Riswana, daughter of Saifuddeen and Alimuthu of Vendormukku, Kollam killed herself a year ago. Police said that Ashraf was arrested in connection with Riswana’s suicide as she had mentioned him in her suicide note. Both were engaged on April 2010 and had maintained a close relationship.Police version was that Ashraf, after coming to know about a surgery undergone by Riswana, stepped back from the relation which provoked her to end life.Ashraf, who got married within an year after Riswana’s death, had worked in the Middle East and was working in Bangalore and Gujarat. He came home a couple of days back. Police presented him before the Nedumangad First Class Judicial Magistrate Court which granted him conditional bail. He is the brother of Kozhikode District Collector P B Salim.
