South Korean boyband BTS member SUGA has earned a separate fanbase for hosting the celebrity talk show Suchwita. In the YouTube series, SUGA welcomes celebrities from the South Korean film and music industry, engaging in interesting conversations over drinks. The program has also revealed SUGA’s long list of contacts and friendships which his fans aka the BTS Army were unaware of. The latest star to have graced the Suchwita show is actress Lee Sung-kyung. Needless to mention, fans were taken over by the sweet surprise of SUGA’s unexpected camaraderie with the Shooting Stars actress upon the trailer release. The episode featuring Lee Sung-kyung premiered on February 5.
In the latest Suchwita episode, SUGA was seen giving Lee Sung-kyung a warm welcome in his show before admitting that they were “close” and had known each other for three years. The two talked about everything under the sun, ranging from how they first met each other, their polarising personalities, and their careers. Their easy-breezy equation was quite evident when the duo shared laughs in between the conversations as if two friends were meeting one another after a long time.

SUGA disclosed that he became friends with Lee Sung-kyung after the pandemic. The actress agreed, comparing the BTS member to a cat who was venturing out for the first time. The singer pointed out the contrasting energy levels with Lee Sung-kyung, with the actress defending that SUGA can be hyper too sometimes. In his response, SUGA said that it was a rare occurrence.

SUGA also shed light on his first meeting with Lee Sung-kyung. He said that they met through common musician friends at a social event. Despite SUGA’s initial hesitance in talking with too energetic people, he finally forged a deep friendship with Lee Sung-kyung. Speaking about working on his D-2 album, SUGA admitted that he was going through a challenging period when Lee Sung-kyung gave him moral support. Lee Sung-kyung also opened up on how she instantly clicked with the other BTS members before teasing SUGA that he was “babied” in the group, being one of the youngest.
Lee Sung-kyung has worked in films and television shows like Miss & Mrs. Cops, Love+Sling, Helpless, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo, Dr Romantic, and While You Were Sleeping among others. Meanwhile, the BTS members who are currently serving in the military are expected to reunite in 2025.
