Life is Short and Our Dreams are High… so what do we do turn those dreams in goals and achieve them while we still have time to lookback and rejoice our accomplishments. Every youngster wants to be a millionaire by the time he/she is 30. However why there are just a few countable on our fingertips who make their way to the position they’ve nurtured so innately.
Let’s take a look at 3 habits that are energy and time drainers that drag us away from the path of achievement:
1. Hanging with the Wrong Crowd
Your company defines who you are… sounds like a cliche we’ve heard in our formative years from our parents ‘You are Known by your company’. Take more, ‘You are the average of 5 people you spend time with’. These advices are not vain rather this is the first step towards being successful. Surrounding yourself with the right people is crucial to keep yourself on track. Create your circle of friends who too believe in achieving big in their lives and foster your mutual dreams. Hanging in the wrong crowd would just put you in self-doubt where people who think differently or haven’t set high goals for themselves would laugh at your dreams too!
Another point to watch for is keeping yourself away from Narcissists. Things to watch out for: narcissists are highly self-centered, impulsive, aggressive, blamers and charmers too… know someone who’s like: “It’s your fault that I forgot because you didn’t remind me” … Beware!
2. Not Delegating or Asking for Help
Big goals cannot be achieved alone. You need to get others involved. Do not ever hesitate asking for a helping hand. Delegate small tasks to others while you concentrate on the big ones. Trust others for their skills rather than keep everything under your tight scrutiny and getting stressed all this while. Do not let your ego come in between asking for assistance from your subordinates, boss or family. Goals are achieved faster when ground work is done at a good pace.
3. Becoming too Rigid About Your Goals
Life is about achievements but it is also about small moments that need to be rejoiced with love and laughter. In your pursuit of becoming rich, do not forget to stay humble, to stay warm and close to your loved ones. It’s good to be focused but your focus will take a route one up the hill if you are happy and content from within. In your chase of success, do not leave the most important people like parents, siblings, best friends, spouse and kids, behind. Be flexible in your schedules and enjoy your small accomplishments which together will be celebrated triumphantly one day!
