With 2997 active Covid cases and counting the urgency of understanding JN.1 variant’s impact on India’s public health landscape cannot be overstated. This new strain of covid 19, a descendant of the Pirola strain shares similarities with previous omicron strains in terms of high transmissibility and mild symptoms. However, there are some symptoms which the general public needs to be aware of as they may not be as mild as other omicron variants.
