Babil Khan Is ANGRY Over Poonam Pandey's Fake Death Publicity Stunt: 'Worst Way To Raise Awareness'
Babil Khan lashed out at Poonam Pandey for faking her death to raise awareness for cervical cancer.

Poonam Pandey has been getting a lot of backlash for faking her death, in a bid to spread awareness for cervical cancer. The actress and social media sensation had taken the country by storm, a couple of days ago, when her team announced her death. Several celebs have come forward to express their anger and among them is also Babil Khan, who lost his father Irrfan Khan to Neuroendocrine cancer.

On Sunday, Babil Khan lashed out at Poonam Pandey for pulling off a publicity stunt like this. He wrote, “I don’t know what the f*** that was about Poonam Pandey’s demise, but it just feels wrong. I’m trying not to care but it is making me feel really angry. Awareness can be spread, faking statements of death should not be something that we rely upon to do so as individuals in a collective society.”

He added, “Bro long story short, this is the worst way to raise awareness about cancer and my intuition roars sensing malice. Please don’t f*** with cancer awareness.”

Poonam Pandey’s fake death stunt has landed her in big trouble. All Indian Cine Workers Association has demanded an FIR against the actress-model stating that her actions were “highly wrong” and “unacceptable”. On Saturday, AICWA issued a statement via their official X handle and called for legal action not just against Poonam but her manager too. They condemned the publicity stunt and argued that “no one in the film industry stoops to such levels”.

“The Fake PR stunt by Model and Actress Poonam Pandey is highly wrong. Using the guise of Cervical Cancer for self-promotion is not acceptable. After this news, people may hesitate to believe any Death news in the Indian film industry. No one in the film industry Stoops to such levels for PR. Poonam Pandey’s manager had confirmed the False News, so there should be an FIR against Poonam Pandey and her Manager to prevent anyone exploiting their own death news for personal gains (PR). The entire Indian film industry, along with the entire nation, paid tribute (sic),” the statement read.

For the unversed, Poonam Pandey’s ‘death’ news was announced in a post shared on her official Instagram handle on Friday, February 2. “This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared,” the post read.

However, on Saturday afternoon, the actress came out in a video statement and revealed that she is alive. She argued that the motive of her death news was to create awareness regarding cervical cancer. It did not go down well with everyone and several celebrities including Kangana Ranaut and Karan Kundrra among others lashed out at the actress.
