After Dave Grohl’s shocking revelation about his affair and the birth of a child outside of his marriage, iconic American rock band Foo Fighters will reportedly enter an “indefinite hiatus.” Grohl, who has been married to actress-producer Jordyn Blum since 2003 and has three children with her, continues to face scrutiny over allegations of infidelity and a long-term relationship with a woman in the adult film industry.
According to The US Sun, Grohl wants to focus on rebuilding his family’s trust during the hiatus. “He wants to be at home and focus on earning back the trust of his family. Being on the road isn’t the best thing for any of them at the moment. It feels like a hiatus is the best thing for them collectively,” the report stated. It also adds that Grohl’s bandmates need to prioritise their own families and “focus on regrouping,” given the significant challenges they have faced in recent years, including the loss of drummer Taylor Hawkins in March 2022 and the passing of Grohl’s mother.
The announcement follows the band’s unexpected cancellation of their performance at the Soundside Music Festival in Connecticut.
Earlier this month, Dave Grohl confessed to having had an extramarital affair, which resulted in the birth of a child outside of his marriage. In a surprising social media post, the 55-year-old revealed that he intends to be a “loving and supportive parent” while working to regain the trust of his wife and three daughters, Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10. “I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration towards all the children involved as we move forward together,” he wrote. He is yet to reveal the identity of the woman.
Blum, who married Grohl in August 2003, has been seen without her wedding ring since the news broke.
