Megha Ghadge Reacts To Pushkar Jog's 'Female Employee' Remark On BMC's Caste Survey
From January 23 onwards, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has taken up the initiative to identify real Marathas in the state to ensure reservation in OBCs.

Megha Ghadge is a popular face in the Marathi film industry. She is often known for taking a strong stand and voicing her opinion. Amidst the ongoing BMC survey to identify real Marathas in the state, many actors and actresses have been showing their discontent and opposing the move on social media. One such actor is Pushkar Jog who criticised the move and said had it been a male employee he would have “beaten him”. However, the actress has reacted to his comment.

From January 23 onwards, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has taken up the initiative to identify real Marathas in the state to ensure reservation in the Other Backward Class (OBCs) category. The deadline set was for January 31. After multiple discussions between the leaders including Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and activist Manoj Jarange-Patil, who is spearheading the initiative, along with personnel from various departments of the government have been going door-to-door for survey to accomplish the task.

Pushkar Jog expressed his opinion on X. In a now-deleted tweet, he wrote, “A female BMC employee came to my home and asked my caste. If it were a male employee, I would have beaten him.”

He later removed the tweet and tweeted an apology. It read, “I made a post on Sunday. The purpose of the post was simply to say that I only believe in humanity as a religion. Of course, I apologise for the statement I made about the BMC employees as they were doing their assigned work. I have the utmost respect for individual BMC employees. Apologies again if they were offended by my statement.”

But his initial remarks did not go down well with Megha Ghadge. On her Instagram Stories, she responded to his comment in Marathi which when translated to English reads, “#BMC #WomenHonor Jog will speak and we will be silent? If the woman wasn’t human, surely there would have been two kicks? I want to give you two kicks and one slap under the ears, but your language and thinking made me sad. Because it is you who make friends based on caste. What will you do? O friend, study the survey. Be a little bit aware of your surroundings. I have the information and the form if you need. If you do not want that, then I know a few friends from your caste who do not share your ideology. But, if this is an effort for your upcoming movie, then wow!”

Even musician Kaushal Inamdar commented against Pushkar Jog’s post.

What's your reaction?
