Samantha Fans ANGRY As Naga Chaitanya Avoids Naming Her In Statement To Konda Surekha: 'She Has A Name'

A big controversy brew last week when Telangana minister Konda Surekha claimed that Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya’s divorce was a political conspiracy. After the film industry — including Samantha and Chaitanya — criticised her, Surekha took back her statement. However, many fans also called out Naga Chaitanya for not mentioning Samantha by name in his response.

On October 1, Konda Surekha accused KTR of ‘blackmailing’ Samantha into ending her marriage with Chaitanya. Samantha quickly responded, asking Surekha not to involve her in political matters. The following day, Chaitanya released a statement, but fans found it too vague. He didn’t even use Samantha’s name, referring to her as his ‘earlier spouse,’ which came across as disrespectful, according to fans.

What K Surekha Said

Konda Surekha claimed that KT Rama Rao demanded that Samantha be sent to him in exchange for sparing Nagarjuna’s N-Convention Centre from demolition. According to Surekha, when Samantha refused, it led to her separation from Naga Chaitanya. “KTR asked to send Samantha in return for not demolishing the N-convention centre. Nagarjuna forced Samantha to go to KTR, but she said no. That led to divorce,” Surekha was quoted as saying by Deccan Herald.

Samantha’s response

Earlier, responding to the claim, Samantha took to Instagram to issue a strongly-worded statement. “To be a woman, to come out and work, to survive in a glamorous industry where women are more often than not treated as props, to fall in love & to fall out of love, to still stand up and fight… It takes a lot of courage and strength,” she wrote.

Directly addressing Surekha, Samantha added, “Konda Surekha Garu, I am proud of what this journey turned me into—please don’t trivialise it. I hope you realise that your words carry significant weight as a minister. I implore you to be responsible and respectful of individuals’ privacy.”

Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya got divorced in 2022. Naga Chaitanya Akkineni is now engaged to The Night Manager actress Sobhita Dulipala.
