While the Merc with a Mouth has suited up once again, this time he brings along Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine for a chaotic ride into the multiverse. The film recently hit theatres and is performing as expected, drawing a lot of fans. It comes with a lot of subtle callbacks, Easter eggs, and noticeable nods to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One of them included an unexpected cameo from Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, in which he seems to be mourning Deadpool’s death in the future.
Just like Deadpool and his distraught thoughts, fans have also been dissecting the exact reason why Thor was crying. And it seems like Ryan Reynolds knows the answer. Taking a dig at the brief yet impactful sneak peek into the film, Reynolds shared a picture of his cameo scene. While his mask is torn off and covered in blood, the other half of his face remains covered.

Either dying or bleeding to death, Deadpool was in the arms of Thor as the God of Thunder cried it out. “I know why Thor was crying. I can’t unknow it. #DeadpoolAndWolverine,” he wrote. Notably, Thor had a similar reaction to Loki’s fake death in Thor: The Dark World. Later, it was replaced in the film with Deadpool. It was even confirmed by Paradox, hinting at a future or different timeline where Thor and Wade Wilson share a deeper relationship.
On the other hand, fans are also speculating on different theories, including Deadpool’s death in Avengers: Secret Wars. It seems they will have to wait to find all the answers to the supposed Easter eggs.
Other MCU Cameos In Deadpool & Wolverine
Besides Hemsworth, another MCU superhero, popped up in the movie with Chris Evans. Surprisingly, it was not a Captain America moment, but his decade-old character as Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch. Opening up about his comeback. Evans shared a gratitude note on Instagram and wrote, “Thank you to Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and Shawn Levy for letting me be a part of such an incredible movie! They’re three of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet.”
Others, like Lady Deadpool, Gambit, Blade, and many other Marvel/X-Men favourites made surprising entries at various points. Currently running in theatres, Deadpool & Wolverine has surpassed a collection of $500 million globally.
