Akshay Kumar has opened up about reuniting with Raveena Tandon on screen after 20 years. Raveena Tandon and Akshay Kumar became a superhit onscreen pair after starring together in the 1994 film Mohra. The duo also reportedly began dating a later and got engaged in the late ’90s. However, they eventually called it quits.
The exes are now all set to work together in Welcome To The Jungle. Speaking with the news agency ANI, Akshay has said he is looking forward to the shoot of Welcome to the Jungle which brings him and Raveena together onscreen after almost twenty years.
Akshay told the news agency, “We’re doing a film called ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ for which we will begin shooting soon. And that song is a brilliant song and even Tip Tip Barsa Paani also. We’ve done maximum hit films together and I am looking forward to starting the shoot (of Welcome to the Jungle) after a long long time and we will be together on the same screen.”
Raveena Tandon was said to be in a serious relationship with Akshay Kumar in the late 1990s. The Bollywood actress recently revealed that she still shares a good bond with Akshay despite their breakup. She said that they both have immense respect for each other. “Akshay and I are still friends. You need to respect it and move on. I think of him very highly. I think he is one of the strongest pillars of our industry,” Raveena told ETimes.
Akshay and Raveena made a rare joint appearance earlier this year at an awards show. They were attending HT India’s Most Stylish 2023, where Akshay bagged the Style Hall of Fame – Male award. Raveena presented the award to him. The duo also played a rapid fire game on stage. Host Riteish Deshmukh asked Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon to name who was Malaika Arora of the nineties. Raveena, at first, said that Malaika was “incomparable”. However, she later took Shilpa Shetty’s name. Interestingly, Shilpa was also present at the event.
