PM Modi Lauds 'Team India's' War on Covid, Recounts 7 Yrs of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas'
PM Narendra Modi also praised people of the coastal states affected by the two cyclones that recently hit India and said they showed courage, patience and discipline.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the country has worked together as Team India in the last seven years, highlighting how the country fought the biggest of challenges that came in its way. The Prime Minister said that country not only fought against the biggest pandemic in the last hundred years, but also braved natural disasters, including Cyclone Tauktae on the Western Coast and Cyclone Yaas on the Eastern Coast during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“My dear countrymen, however big the challenge is, India’s resolve to face it has always been greater. The collective strength of the country and our spirit of service have brought India out of all storms,” PM Narendra Modi said during the 77th episode of Mann Ki Baat on Sunday.

PM Modi also praised people of the coastal states affected by the two cyclones that recently hit India and said they showed courage, patience and discipline.

“In the past ten days, the country faced two major cyclones – cyclone Taukte on the west coast and cyclone Yaas on the east coast. Both these cyclones affected a number of States. Under these trying and extraordinary calamitous circumstances, people of all these cyclone affected States have displayed courage,” he added.

The monthly address coincided with seven years of the Modi government at the centre. PM Modi said in the last seven years, the country has followed the mantra of ‘Sabka-Saath, Sabka-Vikas, Sabka-Vishwas’. He added that the country has showed the world a new direction in digital transactions. “Today, you can make digital payments with absolute ease at any place; it is proving very useful even in this time of Coronavirus… We are also launching record satellites and constructing record roads too,” he added.

PM Modi interacted with frontline workers who were at the forefront in meeting Oxygen supplies during the second wave of Covid-19. He said that production of medical oxygen has increased by 10 times as the country is producing 9500 Metric Tonnes daily. He also said that from a few hundred tests conducted in a day during the onset of pandemic, India is now conducting more than 20 lakh tests in a single day.
