Mysore: Former Karnataka minister and a senior BJP leader SA Ramadas has allegedly tried to commit suicide after a woman accused him of exploiting her. Ramadas has been admitted to a hospital in Mysore.
A woman in her late 30s has made a serious allegation against Ramadas in Mysore on Tuesday. She told the media that she was "unofficially married" to Ramadas when he was a minister in the BJP government and he started ignoring her in the recent months.
Speaking to reporters she had said, "I am a widow with two children. I came in contact with Ramadas when he was a minister in the BJP government. I met him seeking a transfer. Our friendship turned into a relationship. I was like his wife. He even asked me to quit my job. I did that. He is now ignoring me."
Her sensational revelations hit the headlines and an embarrassed BJP decided to keep quiet over the issue. What worsened the matter was Ramadas' telephone call to that woman asking her not to go to the media about him. She was talking to the media at that time. She spoke to him in the presence of the media and it went live on local TV channels.
Later in the night, a troubled Ramadas tried to end his life at a guest house in Mysore. His condition is now stable. Ramadas was medical education minister in the previous BJP government. He represented Krishnaraja assembly seat in Mysore thrice.
