TV actors Shalini Kapoor and Rohit Sagar completed 16 years of togetherness on Wednesday, July 10. Marking the special occasion, Shalini dropped a montage on Instagram featuring throwback videos of the lovely couple. The video also featured the couple celebrating their 16th wedding anniversary in the presence of close family and friends. “Happy anniversary to us. Please shower your blessings and wishes as we have completed yet another year of togetherness,” she wrote in the caption.
Soon after Shalini’s post, her fans and friends from the industry swamped the comment section to extend their heartfelt wishes.
Actress Eisha Singh wrote, “Happy anniversary.”
Actress Tanu Vidyarthi commented, “Best wishes to both of you.” An Instagram user wrote, “Wishing you both love and companionship always.”
Shalini is known for her performances in popular TV shows including Qubool Hai, Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev, Jai Maa Durga, Swaragini: Jodein Rishton Ke Sur and Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum. The actress is currently seen in the mythological show Tirupati Balaji Kathasar featuring her in the role of Bakula Devi, Balaji’s mother.
Rohit gained popularity for his performance in the TV show Naagin.
Looking back on the 16-year journey in her married life, Shalini told ETimes TV, “Honestly, 16 years is not a major milestone like 25 or 50 years of marriage. Butt 16 years of sharing a house or making a home of love, arguing over what’s for dinner or receiving compliments and trying not to kill each other over stupid fights to pamper each other most of the time. And this cute relationship still deserves some laughs and a playfully punchy anniversary celebration.
“16 years down, forever to go! We celebrate 16 years of love, laughter and friendship. Here’s to many more adventure-filled years together as the ultimate power couple. I’m sure for our love story will continue to unfold with all the drama of a rom-com and the beauty of a fairy tale. I’m living my dream life and grateful to my husband,” she added.
The couple tied the knot on July 10, 2008, and welcomed their daughter Aadya in 2011.
Apart from TV serials, Shalini has also proved her acting prowess in several big Bollywood films including Janhvi Kapoor starrer Dhadak, Kartik Aaryan’s Shehzada and Sanjay Dutt’s 2000 film Baaghi.
