Himangshu Vaish, a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, has taken the path of success with his extraordinary journey. Himangshu graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi and won the prestigious Gold Medal, proving his brilliance.
Despite family pressures, Himangshu had the desire to forge his path. After turning down high-paying job offers after graduating from IIT, he ventured into entrepreneurship in 1976. His vision was not to look for jobs but to create opportunities.
With determination and a vision, Himangshu founded the International Data Processing Center, which marked the beginning of his entrepreneurial journey. However, his ambitions went beyond the conventional boundaries.
Faced with frequent power outages affecting his daily life, Himangshu ventured into the inverter business and founded Instapower in 1986. The company specialized in inverters and uninterruptible power systems and was very successful. He later diversified his offerings into lighting products and launched CFL bulbs and lights.
Himangshu’s hard work led to the development of innovative LED lights that adapt to the needs of people and their environment. His company boasts of holding 70 patents and its products are exported to over 30 countries, raising India’s reputation across the world, as reported by News18.
Apart from Britain, America and Australia, his company’s products are exported to more than 30 countries in Africa, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and South America, bringing fame to India.
Looking back on his journey, Himangshu stresses the importance of pursuing your passion and not bowing to societal pressures. He encourages young people to see their careers not just as a means of employment but as a platform for innovation and impact.
