Bengaluru: A major accident was averted on Saturday as a technical glitch led to a fire in Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's chopper.
Minor smoke and fire was seen from the silencer of the chopper just before the take off. Siddaramaiah was scheduled to fly from the HAL airport in Bengaluru to Mysore in a private chopper on Saturday.
The CM immediately got out of the chopper when the smoke was detected. He was accompanied by his staff and the PWD Minister.
He will now be going to Mysore for his trip by road.
