In some trouble for the Congress party, a company whose name figured in the Goa bribery scam has now come under scanner for a Mumbai monorail contract.
The company, Louis Berger, has come under scanner as a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mumbai legislator, Atul Bhatkhalkar, has written to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis alleging irregularities.
Atul Bhatkhalkar has written to the Maharashtra Chief Minister that the CAG has pointed out irregularities and mismanagement while preparing cost estimates for the monorail project.
According to Bhatkhalkar, the company has admitted that its officials bribed Indian officials and ministers in order to get contracts. He has urged the government to conduct a probe into the matter as Louis Berger is the project management consultant for monorail and Navi Mumbai airport.
The monorail contracts were given during the Congress-NCP rule.
