Bhubaneswar: The Orissa assembly is again in the news for the wrong reasons.

After slippers and musical instruments last year, Congress MLAs this time added a different jingle to their protests.

Coins worth Rs 60, 000 weighing 350 kg were deposited in the well of the Orissa Legislative Assembly - a surefire way to grab the speaker's attention and make a point.

They did this after three party MLAs were fined Rs 20,000 each for breaking the speaker's microphone six months ago.

The speaker, Maheswar Mohanty was ofcourse, not very amused.

"I am very disappointed with this and after discussion in the house, action might be taken against them," he said.

And he's not just miffed over the location chosen by the Congress MLAs because the amount could have easily been deposited in the treasury.

The congressmen also got in the way of a clean up.

Six adjournments later, Congress MLAs still haven't given up.

They now plan to stay up and guard the coins all night and proceed to Act II of the drama as they put it, though what that may be, everyone will have to wait and see.
