Festival advance for SCCL staff

HYDERABAD: The Singareni Collieries Company Ltd has decided to pay festival advance to 52,000 employees working in the mines in Adilabad, Karimnagar and Warangal districts.The company has already paid the advance to employees working in mines in Khammam district.According to SCCL chairman and managing director S Narsing Rao, the government has advised the management to pay festival advance to the employees, though they are on strike, to help them celebrate Dasara festival. The management will be paying `8,000 per employee as festival advance on Wednesday.The amount is only an advance and is recoverable in 10 equal monthly instalments from them.Last year, the company had paid Rs.6,000 as festival advance.
