Kanpur: IIT Bombay is the first choice among students who cleared the IIT-JEE exam this year, followed by the Delhi campus.
According to an IIT-Kanpur release, which conducted the exam this year, most of the students who attended the first counselling session have made Mumbai their first choice followed by Delhi, with Kanpur being the third preference.
A total 13,197 students cleared the IIT-JEE 2011 and 9,319 of them attended the first counselling session.
Computer science and engineering was the most preferred stream among the students, with 3,352 opting for it, the release said.
1,393 opted for electrical engineering while mechanical engineering and aerospace engineering were the third and fourth choice respectively, it added.
The IIT-JEE 2011 was conducted on April 10 and more than 4.5 lakh students appeared in the exam.
