HYDERABAD: The Orange Leaf, a student run non-governmental organisation in the city, celebrated this year's Christmas with children from various orphanage homes in the city. As a part of these celebrations, each child was given a special Christmas hamper with chocolates, sketch pens, a drawing book, a Santa hat and a pencil pouch with stationery items.Around `8500 was raised over the past two weeks by volunteers of the Orange Leaf and more than 400 students from schools volunteered from the across city to make contributions.The donations were used for making Christmas all the more merry for more than 150 children.The celebrations were held at Rainbow home at RTC crossroads and at Ashray Akriti in Begumpet.Each home was given a Christmas tree.Volunteers decorated the trees with craft-work made by the children.Christmas carols, cake and activity games marked that day.For new year, the organisation is planning to throw a party for the children and will be organising an open talent show, giving people the opportunity to entertain these little children.The event is open to everyone.For further details, please visit facebook.com/ theorangeleaf or email them at [email protected].
