Rameswaram, Dindigul train service likely

RAMANATHAPURAM: A proposal has been sent to the Railway Ministry to introduce a train service between Rameswaram and Dindigul via Madurai, said A K Goel, Divisional Railway Manager, Southern Railway, at Rameswaram on Thursday.On a routine visit to inspect the ongoing development works in the district, Goel said that the Pamban railway bridge was being monitored regularly and it was sufficiently strong. It has been decided to operate a pair of trains between Rameswaram and Dindigul during the day time for the benefit of train commuters and traders, he added.
