Reliance drags airport bids to court
Reliance Group has gone to Delhi High Court protesting against the manner in which airport bids were conducted.

New Delhi: Anil Ambani's Reliance Airport Developers Private Limited has gone to Delhi High Court questioning the manner in which airport bids were conducted.

The court will now decide how and whether the bid process will go ahead. Reliance Airport Developers Private Limited has alleged that the whole bidding process was a farce.

The court has two options ahead of it. It can either stay the proceedings or hear from all the players including GVK and AAI.

Meanwhile, the firm has also issued a statement confirming the same.

A five-point statement released by Reliance Airport Developers Private Limited (Reliance) stated the following:

  • Reliance fully supports the Government of India’s reform process and efforts towards modernization of the Delhi and Mumbai Airports.
  • Reliance has emerged as the highest financial bidder for the Delhi Airport.
  • Reliance is also one of the two highest technically ranked bidders for both, Delhi and Mumbai Airports.
  • Reliance has today filed a petition in the Hon'ble Delhi High Court, seeking fairness and transparency in the award of Contracts for both Airports.
  • As the matter is now subjudice, we have no further comments.
