Kapil Sharma Is 'Comfortable' With Jokes On Him, Is Secure of Other Cast Members; Kiku Sharda Reveals
Kiku Sharda says people often ask him to start his own show without realising the amount of work it would need.

Kapil Sharma recently returned with his new comedy show on Netflix, The Great Indian Kapil Show. The show also stars Krushna Abhishek, Sunil Grover, Archana Puran Singh and Kiku Sharda among others. In a recent interview, Kiku talked about being a part of Kapil’s show and revealed why he has the “utmost respect” for the actor-comedian.

Kiku Sharda was speaking to Connect FM Canada when he shared that Kapil is very “comfortable” with jokes about him. “When you see me cracking some wicked jokes on Kapil, he is very comfortable with that. We share a comfortable rapport. He knows me, we have been working together for many years. I have the utmost respect for him,” he said.

Kiku revealed how people often ask him to start his own show without realising the amount of work it would need. Kiku explained that Kapil prepares the entire show and gives space to other actors too. “Kapil has to do an entire episode that goes on for an hour or hour and a half, having a conversation with the guest, and within that too there is a certain line you cannot cross. You have to be humorous but when need be, you have to take a backseat as well. Kapil does all of that so beautifully. This is not an easy job. It is certainly not as easy as it looks,” he added.

Kiku also made it clear that Kapil is secure and always gives space to others during their respective performances. He shared that Sharma often stands behind the sofa during his act so that he can rule the stage. “Only a man with utmost security can offer this. Kapil is more than secured in his space,” he continued.

The 49-year-old comedian argued that Kapil Sharma’s comedy shows have been going on for 11 years now and therefore, there has to be something right about him. “We started this format in 2013 and it is still going on. Everyone knows what’s happening and everyone is doing well in their field. It is a beautiful combination. A lot of shows wrap up because of ego battles. We are still around in our eleventh year so there must be something about us,” Kiku said.
