The new hypercar’s power output figures are likely to be higher than the 1493 bhp produced by the Chiron, with a lower acceleration time.

The renowned French luxury car manufacturer, Bugatti, is synonymous with supercars, crafting some of the most powerful, luxurious, and technologically advanced vehicles in the world.

With each generation of its hyper sports car, Bugatti has raised the bar for design, engineering, performance, and craftsmanship. Their supercars are a testament to the brand’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of automotive design, making them sought-after objects of desire for car enthusiasts throughout the world.

Bugatti recently announced that its next hypercar, set to debut in June 2024, will feature an all-new V16 engine. This marks the end of the company’s iconic use of the 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16 engine that powered iconic models like the Veyron and Chiron.

Bugatti stated in a press release, “Eight years to the day since the Chiron was revealed, Bugatti shows the world the first page of the newest chapter in its rich history."

“In June, the modern-day lineage of Bugatti, first established with the Veyron 16.4, will welcome its latest evolution. A new automotive pinnacle with a V16 hybrid powertrain at its heart. Incomparable in every detail, it is a pure embodiment of Bugatti’s DNA, created not just for the present or even the future – but ‘Pour l’éternité’," added Bugatti.

Ahead of its launch, the carmaker has fueled the interest of car enthusiasts by releasing a teaser video showcasing the sound of the V16 engine shifting through gears hinting at a powerful and distinct character and we are definitely in ‘wow’.

Have a look at the video below:

While Bugatti remains tight-lipped about the exact specification of the new hypercar, the new powertrain is expected to have a similar displacement as the 8.0-litre W16 used in previous models. If rumours are to be believed, the V16 engine will be paired with three electric motors, making it the first production car from Bugatti in decades to utilize hybrid technology.

With this new configuration, the new hypercar’s power output figures are likely to be higher than the 1493 bhp produced by the Chiron, with a lower acceleration time, while the V16 hybrid unit will serve as the new powertrain.

Beyond the engine, Bugatti’s upcoming hypercar promises to usher in a new era of design and performance. Designed by the renowned Achim Anscheidt, this vehicle aims to embody Bugatti’s DNA while incorporating cutting-edge technology and design elements. However, manufacturing and delivery are not scheduled to begin until 2026.
