Kuttante Shinigami reportedly explores the lesser-known Japanese beliefs surrounding Shinigami. Shinigami are Japanese death gods or death spirits. They are akin to the Grim Reaper in many ways. Shinigami is a combination of the Japanese words ‘shi’, meaning death and ‘kami’, which stands for god or spirit, according to Ancient Origins.

In Malayalam, the word Shinigami is reportedly translated as Kalan, which, similar to the Japanese belief, symbolises a supernatural entity often associated with death.

Jaffer Idukki takes on the role of Kuttan, a character he is expected to infuse with his signature humour and authenticity that makes him relatable and entertaining. Indrans, on the other hand, takes on the role of Shinigami. His portrayal is expected to be compelling and memorable. Together, these two actors bring a blend of investigation, humour and emotional depth to the film, offering something for everyone – whether you’re a fan of fantasy, comedy or just good storytelling, informs TOI Entertainment.

Apart from the duo, the upcoming film also has actors Sreejith Ravi, Sumesh Moor, Sunil Sukhada, Shaju, Ashraf, Munshi Ranjith, Unni Raja, Sinoj Varghese, Akhila, Chandana and Arya Viju in key roles.

Kuttante Shinigami is shaping up to be a must-watch movie. With its intriguing mix of fantasy and cultural elements, coupled with a strong cast, it’s likely to leave a lasting impression on audiences when it finally releases.
