Grand preparations for the 75th Republic Day celebrations in currently underway in the national capital. As every year, the main focus of festivities in Delhi on January 26 will be at the Kartavya Path where one can witness several presentations and demonstrations by the armed forces.

The Republic Day parade will start at 10.30 am from Vijay Chowk and proceed towards the Red Fort grounds. This year, the Republic Day Parade will have the theme of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Bharat — Loktantra ki Matruka’. French President Emmanuel Macron will be the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations.

All-women Tri-services Contingent to be Part of Parade

In a first for the Republic Day parade here, an all-women tri-services contingent from the Army, Navy and Air Force will march down the Kartavyapath, showcasing the seamless integration of Indian armed forces.

“I feel fortunate to get the opportunity to lead it. It is a proud moment for me as well as every member of the team,” 26-year-old Captain Sandhya, who is leading the contingent, told PTI after a practice session.

The team of 148 members has been in Delhi since early December to prepare for the historic moment, and before that, they practised at their respective places for two months.

“The goal is to give our best, emanate Nari Shakti in every step we march,” Captain Sandhya, who participated in the Republic Day parade in 2017 as an NCC cadet from Delhi Directorate, said.

French Contingent to Join Parade

A 95-member marching contingent and a 33-member band contingent from France will participate in the 75th Republic Day Parade in New Delhi on January 26.

French Air Force Rafale fighter jets and multirole tanker transport aircraft will participate in the Republic Day parade, where French President Emmanuel Macron is the chief guest this year.

Six Indians will also be part of the French military team that will march down the majestic Kartavya Path alongside Indian contingents at the 75th Republic Day parade on Friday, officials said.

An officer in the French Foreign Legion, Captain Loic Alexandre, has expressed his honour and pride being here in India for the Republic Day celebrations.

Glimpse of Namo Bharat Train to Be Seen in UP’s Tableau

A replica of the National Capital Region Transport Corporation’s Namo Bharat train is set to make an appearance on the tableau of Uttar Pradesh this Republic day.

The tableau will showcase a Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) train originating from Sahibabad station and is expected to be the center of attraction in the parade, officials said.

“Namo Bharat train is going to be the center of attraction in the Republic Day celebrations this year. Its glimpse will be seen in the tableau of Uttar Pradesh. In this, an RRTS train originating from Sahibabad station will be displayed,” the NCRTC said in a statement. “It will be a very captivating moment when the Indians from different corners of the world will experience the revolution in transportation brought by NCRTC through this tableau,” they added.

Usage of AI to be Showcased in This Year’s Parade

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s tableau participating in this year’s Republic Day Parade will showcase the involvement and use of artificial intelligence (AI) in various sectors and industries.

In a conversation with ANI, Ministry of Electronics and IT Director, JL Gupta, said, “This time the tableau showcased by the Ministry of Electronics and IT mainly covers AI-based technology and how AI can be helpful to the public.”

ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 to Shine at Republic Day Parade

Eight women scientists from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) who were part of India’s biggest space dream of landing on the moon will march down Kartavya Path as part of the 75th Republic Day parade to be held on Friday.

The all-women contingent from various ISRO centres in Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Thiruvananthapuram, and Sriharikota will lead the special tableau to be showcased by ISRO.

The space agency will depict the historic moment when its spacecraft Chandrayaan-3 successfully touched down on the moon on August 23 last year. The milestone led India to become the first and the only country in the world to land near the unexplored lunar south pole.
