Salem lawyer guns for news channels

Mumbai: Abu Salem who is under CBI custody was taken for a medical check up to St. George's hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday morning.

CBI is trying the option of Brain mapping test in Hyderabad and will also come out with supplementary chargesheets against Salem. CBI will also file a case against Salem's first wife Samira Jumani.

Meanwhile, at the TADA court on Wednesday the judge has reserved his order on whether the accused's lawyer should be allowed while the accused is being interrogated till 12 noon on Thursday.

Salem's lawyer has submitted an application in the TADA court requesting the I&B Ministry to hold an inquiry into publications and television reports of Salem's alleged confession and other such rumours.

They have also requested that post inquiry appropriate action be taken against the erring news organisations.

They have also asked for a blanket ban on press coverage of the trial till it gets over.

The accuser?s lawyer will serve this notice to the said ministry and the ministry is required to reply by November 21.
